Below are some of the activites that can be done for work-exchange.
All activities are either "Full" or "Pro-Rated".
Pro-rated are items that benefit onself directly as well
as others. So time counting for those depends on how many
people are at the Ranch. For example, if there are 2 people,
and one cooks, cleans a common area, or does dishes, that
counts as 1/2 time. So an hour would count as a half an
hour.
Cleaning up group stuff - cleaning shared areas such as
kitchen, dishes and putting them away, floors, bathroom,
etc., emptying shared containers such as trash, compost,
recycling, water #1, #2, etc.(Mostly Pro-Rated)
Providing for basic community daily needs - gardening,
collecting / cutting firewood, sifting sawdust, shopping,
cooking group meals, feeding animals, restoring native plants
on the land
Maintenance of shared facilities - roof repairs, roads,
driveway, trimming trees, etc. (Mostly Full)
Expansion of shared facilities - construction, fence,
planning, etc. (Mostly Full)
Providing for community financial needs - doing work that
directly brings money into the ranch.
Work-exchange hours are recorded in a book to ensure fairness
to everyone.
